Goddess Diet for Youthful Looking Skin

Do you want to know the secret to maintaining youthful and healthy looking skin and keeping your inner Goddess or Titan energized? To continue my health and wellness journey, and in keeping my heart chakra balanced, I am having fruits and vegetables at every single meal and drinking lots of herbal teas and water as part of my daily diet.  In addition to that, I don’t even crave sweets, coffee, carbs, or wine at all.

I have been on this wellness diet since December 27th, and I can tell you, not only does it make a difference in the way I feel, but also in how my skin looks and feels: amazing. Make-up is now a plus (if I feel like it), but not a must…well, at least for the past 3 weeks 🙂 See my bare face in the photo below.

I am blessed to be in Mexico right now and missing Jonas back at home in the Washington, DC area. But even while on this Goddess Holiday and Design Inspiration Retreat, I have been hiking at least five miles a day as well as doing yoga and lifting weights. My breakfast is mostly plain yogurt, honey, chia seeds, and mixed fruits, and lunch and dinner are usually salads or fish tacos made from the freshest ingredients.

I took the photos below to share with you for inspiration in case you want to eat out less and start preparing your foods at home. Make sure to keep your food colorful and made with natural ingredients.  Oh, and did I tell you I also lost 6 pounds from it too? 🙂

New Year, New Beginning, New Goddess

Ending a 3.5 hour hike in the mountains with yoga stretches on the beach is so refreshing and rejuvenating.

The past three years have been a very interesting journey for me. Divorcing my soulmate and best friend, moving into a new home without a garden, launching my goddess sanctuary and lifestyle boutique, and dealing with the ups and downs along the way…all of this made me even stronger, more grounded, and more in touch with myself and who I am and what my sole purpose in life is.

On New Year’s Eve back in 2014, I decided to deepen my spirituality and go within myself by attending a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation session to ring in 2015 with the sound of the Gong and soul-provoking and beautiful music followed by cookies and tea and powerful affirmations. Did I achieve all that I set out to do in 2015? On the professional side, I believe so, since I feel that I am growing a strong team. On the personal side…let’s just say that in 2016 it will be more of a priority.

This year, to continue the tradition of raising my vibrations and rejuvenating my inner goddess as well as deepening the relationship with myself, I went to the most amazing and life changing Yoga, Hiking, and Cleansing retreat at The Pearl Laguna. It was probably the most fulfilling trip I have ever had on every level: mentally, physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and professionally.  I will share with you in a later post my experience and how being there helped me to see things so clearly for my business and my personal life. While there, I was able to recharge, rejuvenate, and simply just let go and not feel the need to be in control all the time.  It was so refreshing and great to be on a routine and having others take care of and pamper me, something I am learning to embrace. In addition to that, being around people that are self-aware, embrace spirituality and wellness, have purpose, and care about making this world a better place was so empowering. Even though I went by myself, I never felt alone.

My New Year’s Day this year started with Power Yoga, a healthy breakfast, a seven-mile hike in the canyons of Laguna Beach, California, a healthy lunch, afternoon massage and sauna, a beautiful and wholesome vegetarian dinner, and the evening ended with an energy healing workshop by the fire and then of course my nightly meditation before resting my eyes and body.  Sounds magical and goddessly, doesn’t it? In short: it was a perfect and super healthy way to start my 2016!

I will share more from this profound experience soon, but for now I have to say that during this trip, my life’s vision and mission became even clearer to me.  And surely, so did the vision for my love life.  I don’t want to give away too much yet, but I will share that I was in the home of a twin flame couple, the ideal relationship that I would like to attract for myself and I am so excited! In the meantime, I did put photos from my retreat on my personal Facebook page. I hope you enjoy it and consider going to The Pearl Laguna and experiencing this for yourself.

As for you, my readers, have you thought about 2016 and what your focus or mantra will be?

I made a list of things for myself below and I wanted share these with you:

  1. My health. I want to get in shape, eat well, sleep well, exercise, and continue to do the things I love.
  2. An image make over. Now that I am becoming a fully awakened Goddess, I will have to look more like one. What will I do with my hair, make up, and clothing style in 2016?  Stay tuned… 🙂
  3. Relax more, let go, and release.  Part of this will be allowing others to take care of me and letting go of the need to be in control and that will not be easy for sure.
  4. Dance more as if the whole world is watching… 🙂
  5. Let the heart rule, not the head.

It was my first time on a real hike ever in my life and I can tell you that I will be hiking a lot more this year if the view is always this beautiful. 🙂

tu-anh’s “What Not To Do” on New Years Day

Do you like my flower arrangement?

Do you like my flower arrangement?

Yay! I am done with my “tu-do” list in preparation for the new year.

When that clock strikes midnight tonight, where will you be?  Will you be drunk at some party kissing a stranger?  Or out with a bunch of depressed singles?  In my Vietnamese culture, we believe that what you do on the 1st of the year reflects your whole year.  Below I have included some of those superstitions, but also have added my own personal list of what you should not be doing on January 1st.  You can call this superstition or think of it as a start to manifesting the year that you would like to have. A new year oh-so-wonderful and inspiring, full of love, happiness, beauty, prosperity, health, and peace.  Wouldn’t that be amazing if you could have it all?

So what is it that you really want for 2014?  A loving relationship, a successful career, a healthier body, more peace and balance in life, or simply just to be happy?  What is it?  Do you really know?  Think about it, if you want to improve your health and get in shape in the new year, then spend time with healthy people doing something productive on January 1st, not lounge on the couch in front of the TV eating chips and drinking beer.  Instead, cook something healthy with them, go dancing, play a sport, or work out with them.

If being in a loving and happy relationship is your priority for 2014, then it would make sense that you spend time with couples you know that are happy and in loving relationships.  Make sure they are truly happy and really in love, because some couples may just be settling and together for security and other reasons than love.

And now, without further ado, is my list of what NOT to do on New Years Day…

1. Do not wake up to the new year in a messy home.  What you see is what you will get for the rest of the year.  Trust me on this.

2. Do not let anyone be the first to enter your home unless they are tall, dark, handsome, positive, kind, generous, intelligent, and successful.  This is my mother’s and my own superstition.  The first person entering your home on New Years Day will influence how your year will turn out, good or bad.  So choose wisely.  If you do not have such a person in your life and you like your own energy and aura, then you should be the person to walk through your door.

3. No matter what, do not wake up with a drunk stranger or someone that is not quality in your bed out of desperation or loneliness the night before, or you will spend your whole year on bad dates and with bad lovers. I have never experienced this myself because I value my body too much to share it with someone who does not deserve it, but trust me, I have known people over the years that have done this and they had to suffer the aftermath…very sad for them.

4. Do not spend time with anyone negative or depressing.  Whether it’s through FaceTime, instant messaging, phone calls, emails, text messaging, lunch, breakfast, coffee, or dinner. You do not want them to spread the negative energy on to you for the new year.  If they happen to be your family, then make sure you are upfront with them to not talk about negative and depressing things around you on this day.  My parents are worriers now in their old age and I usually just tell them save the worries and tell me on January 2nd. 🙂

5. Do not wake up drunk, tired and lazy.  If you have been a workaholic and want more relaxation time in the new year, then that is what you will get.  If, however, you have been lazy and unproductive in your work and you are still struggling to move up in your career, then the last thing you want to do is have another lazy and unproductive year!  Go to the office or spend a few hours at home working productively on this day.

6. Do not kiss someone you are not in love with or attracted to. A baby, your pet, or a loving family member is ok, but other than that save that kiss for the special someone.  Seriously.

7. Do not give away anything or let anything go out the door on New Years Day – not food, not trash, not cash and donations…just nothing.  This means no lending money as well. If you do, you will be losing things throughout 2014.

8. Do not cry, not even tears of joy.  Stay upbeat and positive throughout the day.  If you must, save the tears and cry on January 2nd if you remember to do so. 🙂

Well, that is all for my what not to do list.  Simple, is it not?  I just have two things for you to incorporate if you can on this day.  Make sure to do some exercise, as a healthy mind and body will produce a healthy you and a healthy year.  The other is make sure you find a few hours on January 1st to do some work related activity that is creative or in the business development area, that will give you a very innovative and prosperous year, but no matter what, do not clean or declutter your office.

Well, what do you think? This list is for me and me only.  It is simple and I chose eight because it is a prosperous number.  I hope you will be inspired to follow this list as well or even create your own. I do this every year and the quality of my life improves each time.  And if you did not get a chance to do everything from my other list, no worries at all!  You will have a second chance to get it right before Chinese New Year…happy now?  As always, glad to be of help anytime.  So do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need assistance.

Happy New Year and I wish you a year full of dreams come true…love, happiness, health, prosperity, peace, and beauty…everything that your heart desires. Hugs, kisses, & smiles…tu-anh
