Inspire Your Sex Appeal With Music!

Once again, I will be the creative vision behind Goodwill of Greater Washington’s annual fashion gala “Let’s Get To Work” to be held on September 17 at the Marriott Marquis, Washington DC.

Since I am all about the emotions and feelings, my absolute favorite part is selecting the music. Books, music, and art play a major role in my life. They feed my soul and lift my spirit. Last year, I shared with you the fashion show playlist, here’s a sneak preview into some of this year’s cool, eclectic soundtracks that I have selected so far. I may not use them all in the show, but at least you can get a sense of my vision. Once I finalize the music direction in the next few weeks, DJ Heather Femia and I will be working hard in our creative brainstorming sessions to mix the playlist and make it sexy and chic for the models to strut to.  The inspiration behind this year’s music is from our recent trip to Ibiza.  So enjoy the playlist below. I dance and workout to it 🙂

September is not too far away, and hopefully these tunes start to get you in the mood for another one of a kind event!

Forties, Fun and Fabulous – Part 2!

Hey there!  Sorry it’s been a while.  I recently was on a very intense client project that took all the creative energy out of me.  So I had to take some time off to rejuvenate.  Now I am back and in the full swing of things.

Last year, I celebrated being in my forties and feeling fearless and fabulous in Mykonos with my Harvard-grad, super-smart, and full of life girlfriend, Nhan.  This year, I decided to do a little work-and-play trip with my girlfriend DJ Heather Femia, another fun, fearless, forties, and super fabulous gal who is way too cool and bold for me to handle!  She is a full-time mother, super wife, a fashion DJ, a winning snowboarder, a skier, a dancer, a great cook, a health nut…whatever it is, you name it, she can do it.

So on this trip with Heather, we realized that we have some winning secrets on how to slow down the aging process.  I am sure you may already know many of these, but for those of you who do not know, we want to share it with you.  Below are our top five suggestions on how to slow down aging, especially if you are in your forties.  Also, I hope you like the photos below of our recent trip to Ibiza for a music festival.  We got so much done brainstorming for our next fashion project this fall.  I just love being ahead!

  1.  Smile lots, laugh lots, joke around lots, make fun of yourself, laugh at yourself, don’t take things too seriously.
  2.  No matter how much fun you are having or work you are doing, make sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
  3.  Feed your body with healthy foods. Always, stay away from the junk that destroys the body, especially drugs and cigarettes!
  4.  Enjoy the sun for some vitamin D, but don’t bake yourself for too long – you do not want that leathery skin later on.
  5.  Use the word LOVE in your vocabulary!  Say “I love you” more often.  Put love in everything you do.

Until next time. xo…tu-anh

How “UN-POLISHED” are you?

In an effort to polish my community and surroundings, I am so excited to share with you that starting next month, I will launch “UN-POLISHED WEDNESDAYS” on my blog where you will have the opportunity to contribute.  What does this mean?  Basically, it will feature snapshots of looks that men and women are wearing that need some refining or the Polished by tu-anh touch!  I have contributors around the country and the world in major cities (DC, NYC, Chicago, LA, Vegas, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City) that will be a part of this so it will definitely be fun and very interesting!  And for sure I want you to get involved!

See someone looking un-polished on the street, the mall, at work, at a social gathering, on the train, at a beach…or anywhere?  Or are you having “un-polished” image issues yourself that you would like some guidance on?  Email me a photo of your look and a little blurb and I will be happy to give you some quick tips!  This also goes for home and work spaces that need some refining and organizing.

To get started is simple: just input my email into your phone.  Anytime you capture an unpolished look, just email it to me and title it “unpolished” and then let me know what city and where it is from and your name if you would like credit on the photo.  No worries about people’s faces as my team will crop or block it out.  Sound exciting?

From the photos contributed, I will share my expert advice on how those looks could be improved and polished.  Take a look at the photo below I snapped outside on my way to listening to DJ Heather Femia spin at Masa 14 rooftop with my stylists.  I am looking forward to your contributions and hopefully, you will have fun and get some inspiration along the way.  So, start sending those photos now to and look for “Un-Polished” Wednesdays to debut in February!

How flattering is this?  First of all, the cigarette has to go!  Smoking is bad for your health, the environment, and the people around you. The pants could use some alterations at the thighs and at the hem for a better fit.  The white jacket could be replaced with a longer overcoat or trench.  The handbag should be in black or just plain tan.  As for the hat, it’s ok, but for a more chic look, I would do a beret instead. 🙂
