12 Goddess Secrets to Staying Youthful and Healthy

Keeping grounded and balanced in nature.

I am often asked about my lifestyle habits and what I do regularly to keep me vibrant and feeling youthful with boundless amounts of energy. There are many things I do, but I will keep it simple and easy so that you can take baby steps to try them out for yourself.

My childhood was restricted with very little room and opportunities for freedom, learning, and self-expression. I feel extremely blessed to be alive after so many near death experiences with Asthma growing up in Vietnam while simultaneously attempting numerous times to escape the Communist Regime and then dealing with my unknown future living situation. All this from the past has led to my current future and why I am so passionate and curious about everything that life has to offer. I wake up every day with so much joy and gratitude. I focus on being present in the moment and on the things that I can control. I rarely think about the past or even plan that much for the future. Don’t get me wrong, I still fulfill my Goddess-ly responsibilities and duties to my parents, my clients, nini Love, and myself. Life is a playground to have fun and express yourself freely without fear and guilt.

My nieces and nephew are my pride and joy.

There are many anti-aging secrets and youth serums and formulas out there, below are my top 12. They are simple and really do not cost you time or money to put into practice. Try them for yourself and experience the transformation from your inner to your outer world.

  1. Smile – I love to smile. It’s even better when I see others around me start smiling along for no apparent reasons.
  2. Dream Big and Dream Wild – I am a big dreamer and I love seeing my dreams manifest into reality.
  3. Be Curious and Be Open-Minded – You don’t know what you don’t know. So don’t make a judgment about something without first experiencing it for yourself.
  4. Tell the Truth – Know your truth-Own your truth-Live your truth. That is all I have to say.
  5. Listen to Your Heart – It never lies.
  6. Be Grateful – Say thank you to yourself, to God, to the Universe, to those you love, and write it in your gratitude journal like I do.
  7. Nurture Your Body It is your sacred temple. Treat it well. Exercise. Eat clean foods. Take healing essential-oils baths and make sure to get lots of sleep and rest.
  8. Forgive and Let Go of the Past – Don’t hold on to pain, hurts, or resentments. You are only harming yourself.
  9. Stay Organized and Clutter-Free – Both in your home and workspace.
  10. Take Nature Walks – I make an effort to keep my chakras healthy and balanced by doing 3-5 miles of walking outside under the sun, the moon and the stars daily. It does not always happen, but it does happen at least 85-90% of the time. This is best when with just Nini Love and myself.
  11. Be Around Children and Animals – Their souls are pure and innocent and their energy is contagious! If I had a magic wand, I would arrange it so that 50% of my time is spent with children and animals almost daily. 🙂
  12. Make Love Passionately and Give Love Whole-Heartedly – First to yourself, then to those you love, and then to the world around you and to LIFE!

Nini Love’s secret to her lasting life is SLEEP!

There you have it. So simple and yet, not easy for us all to put into practice regularly. I would love to know your secrets to staying forever young and vibrant, too. Please do share with me your successes! Until next time…

Journal Writing is My Medicine

img_3533

I apologize if my recent post seemed dark, moody, and somewhat emotional. I am in a much better place now. So with the Full Moon in September finishing up, I want to open you up to another powerful way to connect with your higher self: journal writing. It is a holistic approach to traditional therapy, and it really helps you to practice your communication skills, open up your Throat Chakra, and manage depression. Well, at least for me, it does!  When you are able to put your thoughts and desires into words, a lot of miracles and magic will start to manifest in your life.  Journal writing is an incredible holistic way to help you through sadness, guide you through life, and also help manifest your thoughts and desires into reality while being a very meditative and healing activity.

I believe that my very first journal was at age 6 in Vietnam, but of course through all the moving from one place to the next and hiding from the Communists, my journals got lost along the way. So I started again at age 11 here in the United States, but again, because of all the moves, once again, I lost all those journals. Now in my forties and in a much more grounded space in life, I love writing in my journals daily.  It is my way of connecting with my higher self, with God, with the angels, and with the universal energy. It is also my therapy to alleviate any anxiety or depression in my life, which I once a month go through for a few days.  For me, aromatherapy, nature walks with my Nini Love, spending time with my adorable darling nieces,  and writing in my journal are the best forms of medicine. This is why I am rarely under the weather.

As you will see below there is no end to what you can journal about to feel more in tune with your higher self. Not sure where to start or what to write? There is no right or wrong: simply take a few minutes daily with a nice pen and write anything that comes to mind. Don’t over think it. Just start from the bottom of your heart and get in tune with how you feel and then the words will write themselves onto your journal. Why not begin with gratitude? List the things you are grateful for in your life and the rest will flow with ease!  This is also a way for you to get to know yourself and bring you closer to your heart’s desires and manifest your dreams.

We always keep a full stock of inspiring journals in my our goddess sanctuary and lifestyle boutique – see some of my favorites below. And please keep the sharing emails coming. I really appreciate all of that.

This is a much more free-flowing format! Write to your heart’s content and be ready for inspiration at the turn of each page.

This is a fun journal full of prompts for both writing and drawing to express yourself! I just opened it up at random to the most beautiful quote that encapsulates my idea of journaling to connect with the universe, “the secret of all is to write in the gush, the throb, the flood, of the moment- to put things down without deliberation- without worrying about their style- without waiting for a fit time or place.” -Walt Whitman

The Power to Choose – The Third Chakra

CAPTION

I love designing pretty feminine happy accessories.

Earlier this year while at the Pearl Laguna for a Yoga and Hiking Retreat, I discovered that my Solar Plexus (the third chakra) was a little out of balance, which explains some of the inconsistencies that I was seeing in my life and with my inner goddess confidence being questioned.

The third chakra is the center of willpower and the perception of who you are. When this chakra is balanced, you own your personal power and you are confident with who you are and what you want. It also helps you to take action and move your life forward responsibly, regardless of the challenges that may arise.

When this chakra is not balanced or is blocked, you are reactive rather than proactive, you may experience emotional outbursts, you may just sit back and let life pass you by, you may not be able to make decisions so easily and all this and bring your confidence level down as well. Does this sound familiar?

Just know that in life you have the power to choose what makes your heart sing, what gives you passion and joy, what fulfills you – and no one can do this but you. So all you have to do is CHOOSE. Choose to be happy, choose to be confident, choose to be open to receive, choose to be powerful, choose to be with the mate of your dreams, etc. Whatever you choose, you will have.

The color yellow is associated with the third chakra. In order to help strengthen and balance this chakra, I not only like to eat yellow foods, such as bananas, eggs, yellow peppers, etc., but I also like to wear yellow, too! (see below) It brightens my spirit and makes me feel like I have sunshine with me all the time.

Not only wearing yellow brings me joy, but being kissed by a precious little pretty goddess makes me feel even more wonderful.

I am convinced that blondes do have more fun, especially when they wear yellow, too. 🙂
