Shopping, Walking…Eating in Sorrento

IMG_6697

Whites and neutrals in natural fibers are musts!

Did you know Sorrento, Italy has ruins dating back to 600 BC? You know how much I love the Eternal City of Rome, so on my recent buying trip to Italy, I made sure to head south by train to the charming and picturesque seaside town of Sorrento.  And I was definitely not disappointed!

Shopping was interesting and a lot of fun! I found so many pretty and unique styles of dresses and tops made from linen, cotton, and silks for our goddess fans. The food was delicious and the people were very friendly, especially the titans! 🙂 I enjoyed my walks throughout the town, and I so loved seeing the different styles of architecture. Like many places in Italy, the fashion is well constructed, timeless, and unbelievably stylish.  And the food – what can I say?  Fresh and delicious!

I hope you like the photos in this post. I will be sharing with you more of Italy in the next few posts. Are you inspired to do some Italian travels now?

How Much I Love Old Town Alexandria

IMG_2349

I love praying and sitting in silence at Saint Mary’s in the afternoons.

There are so many reasons why I love living in the City of Alexandria and having a business right in Old Town. But here are some visual reasons why I just love being here.  From the architecture to the food choices and being near the waterfront, I could wander around all day and still discover something new and inspiring each time.

In fact, I am so passionate about where I live and work that I will be hosting our very first Nguyen family reunion ever! My family and relatives who had escaped Vietnam after the Fall of Saigon in 1975 will be coming in from all over the world and gathering here. Many of the different generations will be meeting each other for the very first time as well.

I will share more on that event with you soon, but for now, soak in the sun and fun of Alexandria.  I hope you will make the time and visit me at my goddess sanctuary and lifestyle boutique if you are ever in town for any reason.  And if you have any questions about the area or want advice on a restaurant, just let me know. 🙂

How to Bring Out Your Inner Pin-Up Goddess…

Here is Carol's famous winning Pin-Up image by Portland Pin-Ups.

My personal manager, Carol in her famous winning image by Portland Pin-Ups.

Marilyn, Brigitte, Sophia, Elizabeth, Betty – are these names ringing a bell to you?  They should!  Men adore and worship them and women want to be like them.  These classic Pin-Up goddesses, known for their beauty, their seductive poses, their flirtatious glances, and their sexy alluring smiles with sparkles of innocence in their eyes were my inspiration growing up. I was fascinated by their tasteful, sophisticated, yet sexually appealing and feminine style. I love the voluptuousness and the confidence they exuded from the photographs and illustrations they modeled in. Of course, the photographers and artists had a lot to do with that as well.

Besides learning how to act and look like a lady (goddess) and embracing my feminine power from my Mother, I also looked to these Hollywood starlets who played a big part in my teens and young adult life. They have then and still now inspire me to create fashion that is beautiful, timeless, feminine, unique, and tastefully alluring. That is why I have a full library of Pin-Up books in my personal collection, and now I am sharing it with the public through one of my favorite publishers, Taschen. You can find some of my favorite Pin-Up books in our goddess sanctuary and online.

I love the sensuousness and the glam that these goddesses are about.  I hope these books and images will inspire more modern-day women to embrace their femininity and sensuality by allowing their inner goddess to be awakened, and most importantly, let the hair grow. 🙂

Oh, and P.S. I hope you like the photo of my assistant above by Portland Pin-Ups. She sure knows how to pose like a Pin-Up, does she not? 🙂
