Jeans and Jazz on the Potomac

Clear blue sky and wonderful view of the Lincoln Memorial.

I had so much fun this past Sunday evening spending quality time with some of my favorite goddesses and fans dancing the night away on the Potomac at Jeans and Jazz – On the Water benefiting We Will Survive Cancer. The music was good to dance to, the view was nice to look at, and the sunset was beautiful! Oh and the Belly Dancer,  Asala El-Masri, was gorgeous and seductive!

With my busy schedule and so many causes in Washington DC Area, I can’t give all my time away without making time for me. So I usually am selective about what events to attend and support. Jeans and Jazz on the Water will take place again next Summer and I hope to have you join me there.

Below are some photos from the event in case you are interested.

Gorgeous Persian Goddess Karen Sami is the heart behind this fun event with the cute bartenders!

I love these two goddesses! Gayela, on the right is the Founder of We Will Survive Cancer!

It’s not a goddess photo unless a titan sneaks in.

The Iphone 7plus is not so bad for night time.

Let’s Wake Up to the Moment

Photo: Karen Ari Sami Location: Lorien Hotel and Spa

Greetings to you,

It’s been too long. I hope life has been treating you well. I have had some moments of emotional ups and downs in the past two months, but overall life has been very kind to me since I turned 45 on May 15. It feels like I am going into a phase of self-mastery, knowledge, and spiritual power that I cannot explain to you at the moment.

After the past month of being with and around people every day, I am finally making time to relax and recharge. Below are some words of wisdom from my favorite spiritual teacher Thich Nhat Hanh‘s book How to Relax. Sometimes, the only way to relax is not in trying, but simply in just giving a command to our mind, body, and spirit to do so.

Waking Up to the Moment

Walking meditation is a way of waking up to the wonderful moment we are living in. If our mind is caught, preoccupied with our worries and our suffering, or if we distract ourselves with other things while walking, we can’t practice mindfulness; we can’t enjoy the present moment. We’re missing out on life, but if we are awake, then we’ll see this is a wonderful moment that life has given us, the only moment in which life is available. We can value each step we take, and each step can bring us happiness because we are in touch with life, with the source of happiness, and with our beloved planet.

I hope you enjoy the wisdom above. For me, walking is a daily meditation that I cannot live without. Regardless of where I am at the moment, walking at sunrise and sunset are usually my must-do activities. Most often, I prefer to do it alone and in silence so that I can hear the birds and the bees singing, whistling, and chirping.

Try walking without shoes. It feels amazing!

A Simple White Dress

The dress is from our latest Mykonos Collection made in Greece. The photo is one I shot at our retreat villa in Cabrera, Dominican Republic.

Despite what you might see, hear and read in the media, fashion does not have to be complicated, and you certainly should not have to spend time over-analyzing your wardrobe. You can keep your personal style beautiful yet simple, clean, and relaxed, with a few basic staples like a white dress.  Not only does a piece like this keep you looking fresh, but it can also bring a sense of serenity with its calming nature, easing tension, sadness, and stress.

I believe that the knowledge of color psychology is a divine and powerful gift that goddesses and titans can teach themselves because colors have their own unique function and meaning. The color white is excellent at clearing negative energy, liberating ourselves from emotional clutter, cleansing the mind of fears and doubts, while totally raising our vibrations and converting our energy into enlightenment.

I began incorporating white regularly into my wardrobe and surroundings over five years ago when I was developing a stronger and more powerful spiritual relationship with God and the divine light. Wearing white gave me meticulous perception abilities and soon became a part of my work and personal identity. A white dress is one of my favorite things to wear because I feel so fresh, feminine, beautiful, and protected by angels.

White is indeed a timeless and very powerful color which works silently, purely, innocently, and softly. The color white symbolizes quiet strength, peace, light, goodness, cleanliness, equality, completion, and simplicity. it is immaculate in essence, free, pristine, and open to welcoming new beginnings and positivity. In some cultures, white represents death but in a way which embraces the ending of a life and the resurrection of a new one. It is said that white is the color of perfection and is very effective in inspiring creativity. When I wear white, I can start on a project and keep going with a strong fire inside, and I won’t stop until I have completed it no matter how tired I am. White keeps me clean and full of truth and light.

Warm summer days are all about staying healthy, hydrated, and cool in the heat. This is why wearing white is great because it keeps our body temperature down, our mood light and feminine. Pair a white dress with a straw hat and easy slip-on sandals to keep you floating along in style.  I hope you like the photos and video of model Ryann Marie that I took on our Winter Goddess Awakened retreat that I led in the Dominican Republic this past February. Doesn’t she look so ready for some pleasure, sun, and sand?
